->SKOWHEGAN -- Dorothy L. Witham, 81, went to be with the Lord, Monday, April 30, 2007.She was born June 30, 1925, in Starks, the daughter of Frank L. and Elsie (Ladd) Quimby. Dorothy grew up in the Starks area and was a graduate of Madison High School.Dorothy lived most of her adult life in the Skowhegan area, where she owned and operated Witham's Boarding Home for 17 years. She had also lived in North Anson, Starks and Pittsfield and had worked as a certified nurse's assistant in several nursing care facilities.She was predeceased by her husband, Richard B. Witham; a daughter, Kathy Calden; and two sisters, Thelma Bean and Ethel Foss.She is survived by three daughters, Sharon Shelton and her husband, Gary, of St. Cloud, Fla., Carole Howard and her husband, Robert, of Madison and Lois Paine and her husband, Donald, of Madison; a son, Leslie B. Witham of Hartland; 13 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Shirley Paine of Madison and Gertrude Robbins of North Anson; a brother, Herbert Quimby and his wife, Janice, of Starks; several nieces and nephews.A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, May 3, at the Sunset Cemetery in North Anson with Pastor Janice Quimby officiating. Arrangements are by Giberson Funeral Home, 40 Maple St., Madison.
