SMITH Dorothy L. Smith, went to be with the Lord and be an angel, Saturday, February 5, 2005, while visiting with family in Largo, Fla. Born June 16, 1924, in Bridgeport, and raised in the beautiful town of Fairfield, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Elizabeth Parker. She received her formal education in the public schools of Fairfield County and graduated from Roger Loudlow High School in Fairfield. At a very early age, she sought a need for a personal Saviour that was her Lord and Creator Jesus Christ. She was a very loving, caring and giving person. Survivors are her husband of 56 years, Al Smith; two sons, Greg A. Smith and Kevin J. Smith and his wife, Rita, all of Sumter, S.C.; One daughter, Elaine DeMarte and her husband, Martin, of Twinsburg, Ohio; two brothers, John Parker of Fairfield, and George Parker of Morristown; two sisters, Mildred Peretti of Stratford, and Jannette Galya of Fairfield; and four grandchildren, Sarah DeMarte, Lauren DeMarte, Christopher J. Smith, and Nicole E. Smith. She was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Kownacki. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, February 12, 2005, at the Chapel of Bullock Funeral Home with the Rev. John Hall officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, February 11, 2005, at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Kevin Smith, 3380 Butterworth Circle, Austin Acres, Sumter.
