Murphy, Dorothy H. WATERVLIET Dorothy H. Murphy, 87, died peacefully on Thursday, March 15, 2007 at St. Mary's Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Born in Troy on March 25, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Elizabeth Evers Crogan. She was a lifelong area resident and was a communicant of St. Brigid's Church in Watervliet. Dorothy was a homemaker who will be remembered as a loving mother and Nana who loved nothing more than to spend time with her children and grand children. She would look forward to Saturday's when she would be together with her entire family at her house or in her yard. Dorothy was predeceased by her husband, William J. Murphy, who died in October 1998, and her daughter, Sandra Murphy Dobert, who died in February 2003. Survivors include her loving children, David Murphy of Albany, Thomas Murphy of Watervliet and Kim (Bob) VanAuken of North Greenbush; her adoring grandchildren, Kelly (Christian) Danish of N.H., David (Jen) Murphy Jr. of Colonie, Nicole (Dan) Rosen of Cohoes, Courtnie, Amber and Kyle Van Auken of North Greenbush; her great-grand-children, Kyla and Joey Rosen and her soon-to-be-born two great-granddaughters; her sister, Marion McClarey of Fla.; her son-in-law, Bob Dobert of Schenectady; and her beloved friend, Ellen Allen of Watervliet; and many nieces and nephews. Dorothy was predeceased by her siblings, Thomas and James Crogan, Lillian Riley and Kate McMullen. Dorothy's family would like to thank the 5th floor nursing staff at St. Mary's Hospital for the love and care they showed Dorothy during her stay there. Funeral services will be on Monday at 9:15 a.m. from Cummings Funeral Home, 643 Third Avenue in Watervliet and at 10 a.m. at St. Brigid's Church in Watervliet. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery in Troy. Relatives and friends may call on Sunday from 3 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
