Dorothy H. Caseyof BinghamtonDorothy H. Casey, 84, of Binghamton, died on Sunday, June 5, 2005, at the Susquehanna Nursing Center. She was predeceased by her husband, Archie; parents, Albert and Johanna Scherer; brother, Albert Scherer; grandson-in-law, David Montgomery. Survivors include two daughters, Joanne Casey, Binghamton, Paulette Giannicchi, Johnson City; sisters and brothers-in-law, Barbara and Jerry McDaniel, West Covina, Calif., Betty and Clemburn Balch, Endwell, N.Y.; sister-in-law, Betty Scherer, Edgewater, Fla.; granddaughter, Misty; grandsons, Barrett (Chet) and Jared; great-granddaughters, Sarah, Meghan, and Monica; several nieces and nephews. Worked for and retired from Grants and K Mart. She did volunteer work for the Senior Centers through the Volunteers of America, and was the Volunteer of the Year in 1994.Memorial Service will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Main Street Baptist Church, 117 Main Street, Binghamton. The Rev. Timothy Bennett will officiate. The family will receive friends on Saturday at 10 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 31 Adams Avenue, Endicott, N.Y. 13760. Arrangements are by the Barber Memorial Home, Inc., 428 Main Street, Johnson City.
