CONCORD -- Dorothy F. (Suitor) Turner, 91, died May 12, 2008, at Concord Hospital.She was born in Haverhill, Mass., to Samuel and Laura (George) Suitor. She graduated from Haverhill High School and Wilfred Academy of Hairdressing, Boston. She was voted "Miss Haverhill of 1936." She worked in local hair salons and later as an instructor at Wilfred Academy.She was a resident of Danville from 1947 until 1960 and was co-owner and operator, with her late husband, of Turner's Country Store. She moved to Plaistow in 1960 and was a 40-year resident, until moving to Concord in 2000.She was a former member of First Baptist Church of Plaistow and First Baptist Church of Danville and a founder and first president of Plaistow Historical Society. She was a member of the Retired Teachers'Association and a member and past president of the ladies auxiliary of Carl Davis American Legion Post of Plaistow.She was predeceased by her husband, William S. Turner.Family members include a son, David L. Turner of Northwood; two grandchildren; a foster daughter, Gail Norman of Pelham; and several nieces and nephews.SERVICES: Calling hours are Friday from 10 a.m. to noon with a memorial service at noon in Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main St., Route 121A, Plaistow. Burial will follow in Plaistow Cemetery with a reception at Carl Davis American Legion Post, Main Street, Plaistow.Memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer's Association of New Hampshire, One Bedford Farms Drive, Suite 105, Bedford 03110.
