Dorothy Worden 1926-2015 Dorothy Evelyn Emily Worden of Riverview went to be with her Lord and Saviour on Thursday, February 5, 2015 at The Moncton Hospital. Dorothy was born in Windham Township, Ontario and was the daughter of the late Wray and Tilley Davis. She graduated from Tyndale College (Toronto Bible College) in 1948 and after her marriage to Hardy Worden on September 1 1, 1948, Dorothy spent over 50 years working with her husband in the Christian Ministry, playing the piano, singing and teaching in the many churches he pastored. She was a Dominion Life Member of the Women's Missionary Society, assisted in the Passion Play and sang with the musical group, Silver Chords. Dorothy was a housewife and mother who took great pride in raising her family. She was well known for her cooking and took great delight in collecting hundreds of recipes. Dorothy enjoyed sewing and knitting, especially for her children and grandchildren, working on cross stitch and crocheting projects, hosting family birthday parties and travelling. Dorothy and Hardy took four overseas tours that included three trips to the British Isles. In 1972 they traveled to the Middle East where they spent a week in the Holy Land. Growing up on a farm she had a passion for horses and dogs and had the company of many furry friends over the years. She was a very special lady who was known for her great willingness to help people in need as well as those whom she and her husband helped come to the Lord. She was a true inspiration and will be fondly remembered by many. Dorothy will be deeply missed by her loving and devoted husband, Rev. Hardy Worden; her cherished children, Margaret (Bill) McGrath, Upper Kennectcook, NS; Karla (Larry) Kelly, Weymouth, NS and Timothy (Janice) Worden, Riverview; her treasured grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and by several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers, Gordon and Jack. The family will be receiving relatives and friends at Cobb’s Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine Rd., Riverview (869-2007) on Saturday from 6:00 – 8:00pm. The funeral service will be held at the Gunningsville Baptist Church (160 Old Coach Rd., Riverview) on Sunday, February 8, 2015 at 2:00pm with Rev. Blair Holden officiating. Interment will be held in Green Hill Cemetery, Edgett's Landing, NB, at a later date. Donations may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
