Karp, Dorothy E. GLENMONT Dorothy E. Pickert Karp, 87, passed away peacefully March 15, 2010 at Good Samaritan Lutheran Health Care Center in Delmar. Dorothy had worked at the former Mayone's Supermarket in Ravena as a meat wrapper and, in 1983, retired from NYS Retirement System where she worked as a keypunch operator. Dorothy loved to work in her garden and yard and was a wonderful cook. She also enjoyed knitting, crocheting, sewing and making crafts. Dorothy was predeceased by her husband, John Karp in 1985. Survivors include her two beloved daughters, Carolyn Karp of Glenmont and Susan (Paul) Danner of N.C.; two grandchildren, Kristin Danner and John Danner; and two great-grandchildren, Samantha Nicole and Jacob Hunter Chafin. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 19 at the First Reformed Church of Bethlehem. Burial will follow in Chestnut Lawn Cemetery, New Baltimore. Friends may call at the Babcock Funeral Home, Ravena on Thursday, 4 to 6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Dorothy may be made to Community Hospice of Albany, 445 New Karner Road, Albany, NY 12205 or the First Reformed Church of Bethlehem, 38 Church Road, Selkirk, NY 12158.
