Dorothy-E.
ALBANY Dorothy E. Brennan, 85, of Albany, died Sunday, August 3, 2003 at St. Peter's Hospital. Mrs. Brennan was born in Glens Falls, N.Y. She lived in South Glens Falls until 1970 when she moved to the Albany area. While a homemaker for most of her life, during World War II, Dorothy worked at General Electric in Hudson Falls, N.Y. for ten years, contributing to the war effort. Dorothy was a great lover of animals, especially her cats. She enthusiastically supported many environmental causes and was active in saving Albany's Pinebush from commercialization, even though such efforts were unpopular in the 80s. Dorothy would not hesitate to express her opinion about most any subject but always did so with a leprechaun laugh and a twinkle in her eye. She loved life, her children, her grandchildren and son- and daughter-in-law more than words can express. Mrs. Brennan was the daughter of the late James Bennett and Lura (Colburn) Bennett. She was the loving wife of the late Edward Chappy Brennan. Mrs. Brennan is survived by her daughter, Kathleen Chillemi and her husband Thomas of Albany; her son, Michael Brennan and his wife Kathy of Silver Springs, Md., and grandchildren, Ryan and Seamus Brennan. Funeral services will be held in the Hans Funeral Home, 1088 Western Ave., Albany, Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the Hans Funeral Home, Wednesday evening from 4:30 and 6:30.
