HomemakerWINTER HAVEN -- Mrs. Dorothy E. Carter of Winter Haven died of complications of Alzheimer's disease Wednesday (Feb. 12, 2003) at Clare Bridge Cottage in Winter Haven. She was 86.Born in Pittsfield, Mass., on Aug. 30, 1916, she came to Winter Haven from Meriden, Conn., five years ago. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Care Free Country Club Association in Winter Haven. She was a member of Holy Cross Episcopal Church in Winter Haven.Mrs. Carter is survived by her husband, Frederick M. Carter; sons, Joseph Standish, Swannee, Ga., and Gary Standish, Cheyenne, Wyo.; daughters, Priscilla Badgley, Winter Haven, and Doreen Standish, Bellingham, Wash.; 10 grandchildren; and two greatgrandchildren.Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Della Vecchia Funeral Home, Southington, Conn. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at All Saints Episcopal Church in Meriden, Conn.
