Dorothy Burt Johnson Dorothy Burt Johnson, 89, died Saturday, July 3, 2004, following a brief illness. A service is being planned. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Big Bend Hospice, 1723 Mahan Center Blvd., Tallahassee, FL 32308. Culley's MeadowWood Funeral Home, Riggins Road (850-877-8191) is handling arrangements.She was born on March 2, 1915, in Jacksonville and attended Brenau College. She was a lifelong expert on antiques and taught several courses locally on the subject. She oversaw the restoration of several old homes, including the Murat House in Tallahassee and the Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings home in Cross Creek.While working for the newspaper in Jacksonville, she met and married Malcolm B. Johnson, who later became the editor of the Tallahassee Democrat. They were married for more than 50 years. She is survived by two grandchildren, Ashley Moorer Yates of Tallahassee and Samuel Anderson Moorer of Orlando; her niece, Mrs. Carl Simmons of Wachula; and several grandnephews and grandnieces.She was preceded in death by her husband, and a daughter, Donna Johnson Moorer.
