Dorothy was born on May 12, 1925 in Cuthbert, Georgia to the late Mitchell Kitchens and Addie Wilkerson. She had two sisters; Elna Stewart of Phoenix, Arizona and Florence Hamil of Huntsville, Alabama. Dorothy was married to the late Desmond Bishop.They had two children together; Marc Bishop (Debra) and Nada Scott (Tom). She has been a resident of Monticello since 1953 and was a member of First Baptist Church. She was a part of the Delta Capa Gamma, the Missionary Circle and many church organizations. She is preceded in death by her husband Desmond Bishop, sister; Florence Hamil and son; Marc Bishop.Her survivors are her daughter; Nada Scott, daughter-in-law; Debra Bishop, her sister; Elna Stewart, three grandchildren; Tres Bishop, Zane Bishop, and Kaz Bishop, and her great grandchildren; Hayes Bishop and Amrys Bishop. She also had several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Baptist Children Home and Southwestern Hospice.Services will be held on Friday November 7, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Bishop Cemetery in Aucilla, Florida. Visitation will be held on Thursday November 6, 2014 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Beggs Funeral Home, 485 E. Dogwood St. Monticello, FL. 32344.
