Dorothy B. Johnson, 97 of Panama City went to be with the Lord on Monday, Nov. 2, 2009. She was a resident of Bay County for more than 65 years and a Member of Immanuel Baptist Church for the last 63 years. She was very active in the Panama City WMU. Ms. Johnson was instrumental in the innovation of the Baptist Center in Millville and was a Jefferson Award Nominee in 1996. She will be dearly missed. She is survived by a son, Allen Johnson; daughter-in-law, Sally (David Johnson); four grandchildren, Kim Limmer (Mark), Vicki Smallman (Daryl), Teresa Hackwith (Monte), George Johnson, six great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband of 61 years Burl T. Johnson, two sons Gene Johnson, David Johnson, six sisters and one brother. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, Nov. 5, 2009 at 1 p.m., in the chapel of Kent Forest Lawn Funeral Home with the Rev. Randy Kuhn assisted by the Rev. Chris Roberts officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service from 12 – 1 p.m., at the funeral home. Asked to serve as pallbearers are Roy Conrad, Don Redmon, Richard Lovejoy, Carlton Maulden, Dick Clagett, Kevin Clagett, and honorary pallbearer, Buddy Rehberg. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Immanuel Baptist Church or The Baptist Center.
