Dorothy A. Johnson, in Rockland, of Quincy Dec. 6, 2011. Born in Boston, Dorothy was a lifelong resident of Quincy. A graduate of Quincy High School. She worked as an Administrator for over 40 years at the John Hancock Insurance Company. Dorothy was a member of the Quincy Community United Methodist Church for many years, where she sang in the choir for years and was in the Sigma Phi Group and Womens Society. Dorothy was an avid reader, she enjoyed knitting, needlepoint, crocheting. She would make many items for the church bazaars and family. Dorothy was very devoted to her sisters, nieces and nephews and would care for them at any time. A lover of cats, she owned many over the years. Dorothy enjoyed traveling with her nieces and nephews and their families on vacations. She was also referred to as the family photographer due to her love for taking photos. Loving daughter of the late George W. and Marion L. (MacPherson) Johnson. Loving sister of Marion C. Folan of East Weymouth and the late Phyllis L. Johnson. Also survived by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Funeral from the Deware Funeral Home, 576 Hancock St., Wollaston, Monday, Dec. 12 at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited.
