Doris Whitworth Carter Anderson, SCDoris Whitworth Carter, 80, died Sunday, June 1, 2014 at Rainey Hospice House, Anderson, SC.Born in Seneca, SC, she was the daughter of the late Royce and Gladys (Brock) Whitworth. Mrs. Carter was a member of Concord Baptist Church.Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Rev. Ralph F. Carter, of the home; one daughter, Teresa Carter Crowther, of Anderson SC, and two sons, Dr. Ralph F. Carter, Jr. (Regina) of Greer, SC and Ricky D. Carter (Nickie) of Bogart, GA. Mrs. Carter was affectionately known as "Ma" to her six grandchildren: Angela Carter, Simpsonville, SC, Matthew Carter, Taylors, SC, Rev. Daniel Crowther, Andice, TX, Rev. David Crowther, Pittsboro, NC, Mrs. Stephanie Kindregan, Atlanta, GA, and Mary Beth Carter, Charlotte, NC, and five great grandchildren. Also surviving are her sisters, Linda Davenport and Trina Richardson of Seneca, SC; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Beth Thomas.The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Monday at Sullivan-King Mortuary, 3205 North Highway 81, Anderson, SC. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Concord Baptist Church conducted by Dr. Don Cox, Rev. Bob Marcaurelle, and Dr. Ralph F. Carter, Jr. Burial will follow in the Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
