CLAVERACK Doris Flynn Taylor of Claverack, died Thursday, May 6, 2004. A native Staten Islander, born on January 30, 1923, she moved with her family to Columbia County in 1965. She was a photojournalist and feature writer for the New York Daily News. She had her own radio talk show on WCKL. In 1980, she became an original doll artist with her award-winning Hakka Woman, which was sold in Disney World, Fla. She had exhibited in London and Lucerne, Switzerland. She was a member of the Dutch Heritage and Shaker Doll clubs. She was also a member of the World Wide Doll Makers and American Doll Artists. Mrs. Taylor was also a world traveler and frequent lecturer at Columbia-Greene Community College. Wife of the late Edward W. Taylor, she is survived by three daughters, Pamela Farrell of Ghent, Deborah Zindell of Santaluz, Calif. and Alison Ryan of Aberdeen, N.J. She had nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Services will be held at Bates and Anderson Funeral Home, 110 Green St., Hudson. Viewing will be Sunday from 2 to 8 p.m. Mass services will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Hudson at 11 a.m. Monday with the Rev. Thomas Powers officiating. Pall bearers will be Kevin Ryan, Edward Ryan, Donald Farrell, Larry Thornton, Mike Martel and Rob Snell. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Shrine of St. Jude, 411 East 68th St., New York, NY 10021.
