FAIRFIELD -- Doris Mae Rowe, of Fairfield passed away suddenly and peacefully on Thursday, Dec. 29, 2005, with her family by her side.She was born in Waterville on Sept. 2, 1920, the daughter of the late Ernest and Eva (Gullifer) Clark.Doris graduated from Waterville High School in 1938.On June 16, 1940 she married A.E. Rowe and on June 16 of this year they celebrated 65 years of marriage.She was employed at MaineGeneral Medical Center in Waterville for 38 years managing the "Coffee Shop" which was not a job, but a pleasure for her. She loved her work and everyone who visited the shop.Doris was also employed at Colby College for years preparing special banquets and was recognized for her years of service with a Colby Chair.She was loving, caring, always positive, and the best grandmother, mother, and wife anyone could have.Doris was also a very gifted artist and her art was far better than she realized.She will be sadly missed by her husband, A.E. Rowe; her children, Patty Evers and her husband, Jim, of Benton, Pam Rowe of Fairfield, and Paula Rowe of Falmouth; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and the special people in her life, Joy Jones, Nancy Wise, Hadley Chandler, and Judy Soucier.A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 2, 2006, at the Fairfield First Baptist Church on Newhall Street, Fairfield, with the Rev.
