Doris M. (Hayes) Johnson, age 86, of East Bridgewater, died Friday, October 14, 2011 at the Kindred/Sachem Rehabilitation Center after a period of failing health. She was the devoted wife for 58 years of the late Kenneth F. Johnson. She was born and raised in Brockton a daughter of the late Harold R. and Eva M. (Wedge) Hayes and had resided in East Bridgewater for the past 30 years. Previously she had lived in Los Angeles and Falls Church, Virginia where she retired from the Fairfax County, Virginia School System. Doris was an avid golfer and a member of the Brockton Country Club. She enjoyed cooking, entertaining and especially time spent with her family. Doris was a longtime member of St. John Church and its Womens Guild. Doris is survived by a daughter Kathleen A. Bradley, of East Bridgewater wife of the late Bill Bradley and a son Kevin H. Johnson and his wife Anne of Oak Bluffs. She was the grandmother of Margaret Strojny and her husband Matthew of Carver; Bill Bradley II and his wife Stephanie of So. Easton; Elisabeth A. Tyrrell and her husband Brian of E. Bridgewater, James K. Johnson of Pittsburgh, PA, Katharine Johnson of Oak Bluffs and the late Kevin H. Johnson, II. She was also the great-grandmother of Emily, Alison, and Emerson Strojny, Michael and Eva Roderick, Billie, Johnny and Jessica Bradley and Sadie and Cody Tyrrell. She was the sister of the late Raymond Hayes and Pauline Wood and leaves many nieces and nephews. Doris also leaves Cathy M. Auger of Bridgewater who was like a daughter to her. Visiting hours was held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123), Brockton, Monday, October 19 from 4 - 7 p.m. The funeral procession will gather at the funeral home Tuesday at 8 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. John Church, East Bridgewater at 9 a.m. Burial in Calvary Cemetery.
