She was predeceased by her husband, William; brother, Truman Whitaker; and brother-in-law, Charles Griffin. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Donald and Carol Cox, Endwell; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren; a sister, Shirley Griffin, Johnson City; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Whitaker, Vestal; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was a member of Central United Methodist Church, Endicott; former IBM Corp. employee and a member of its Quarter Century Club and Second Generation Club. Doris was also a member of Ideal Hospital Women's Auxiliary. Funeral and Interment Services will be held Tuesday 2 p.m. from the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 East Main Street, Endicott, with Reverend Mark Marino, Pastor of her church, officiating. Burial will be in Vestal Hills Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Allen Memorial Home Tuesday from 1 p.m. until service time at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in her memory may be made to Union Volunteer Emergency Squad, 8 South Avenue B, Endwell, NY 13760.
