Doris Lynell Moring, 58, died Sept. 15, 2009, at Treasure Coast Hospice. She was born in Quincy and lived in St. Lucie County for 39 years, coming from her birthplace. She worked in the nursing home business as a certified nursing assistant for 22 years. She was a member of the Foundation Revival Center Church of Redemption, where she served as a Sunday School teacher, choir member, pastor's aide, assistant financial clerk and on the Mother's Board. Survivors include her husband, John D. Moring of Fort Pierce; sons, Gregory Hale of Tallahassee, Octavious Moring of Port St. Lucie and Giovanni Moring of Fort Pierce; daughters, Nikki Moring and LaToya Moring, both of Fort Pierce; brothers, Jerome S. Gunn and Herbert Gunn, both of North Carolina, and Craig Gunn of Gainesville; sisters, Beverly Peters of Quincy, Verdell Phelps of Jacksonville, Shirley Gunn of Madison and Marilyn Joyce Smith, Linda K. Neal and Angel Ellis, all of Gainesville; and nine grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ira and Ruthie Isaac Gunn; and brothers, Ira Gunn Jr., Howard Peterson, Richard Peterson, and James Gunn. Services: Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Sept. 18 and a wake will be from 6 to 7 p.m. at Stone Brothers Funeral Home Chapel. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sept. 19 at Piney Grove Primitive Baptist Church, Fort Pierce. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Fort Pierce. Arrangements are by Stone Brothers Funeral Home.
