MASON, DORIS L. - Doris Louise Mason passed away on Sunday, December 19th, 2004 at the Saint John Regional Hospital in her 84th year. She was the daughter of the late Thomas H. and Kathleen (Boone) Godwin. She was a graduate of Saint John High School, 1937, Saint John Vocational School, 1938 and the Jeffrey Hales Hospital School of Nursing, Quebec City, 1950. She served with the CWAC in World War II and remained in the service for many years following the war. Member of Fundy Branch # 68 RCL. Retired in 1988 from nursing staff of the Saint John Regional Hospital. Surviving are one son, Thomas E. A. Mason (Carol) of Rothesay, NB; two daughters, Susan J. Cosman of Coquitlam, BC and Brenda L. Steer (Paul) of Delta, BC; one step-son Lynn O. Mason of Fredericton, NB; two step-daughters Linda Dianne Craft (John) of Maugerville, NB and Judith Ann Delaney (Stephen) of Quispamsis, NB; one sister Helen K Burke (Gerry) of Saint John; a daughter-in-law Lorraine Mason of Edmonton, AB; and a special niece Heather J. MacKenzie of Saint John, NB. Also survived by eight grandchildren, 13 step-grandchildren, several step-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by four sisters, Mildred, Lillian, Loretta and Georgina, three brothers Buddy, Thomas and Wesley and infant daughter Wendy Arlene. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Tuesday 7-9 pm and Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral service will be held at Brenan's Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, December 23rd, 2004 at 11:00 am. Interment in Fernhill Cemetery followed by reception at Brenan's Funeral Home. Remembrances to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick or the Children's Wish Foundation would be appreciated. The Royal Canadian Legion will hold a tribute to a Veteran on Thursday at 7:00 pm at the funeral home. www.brenansfh.com
