Born on July 3, 1917 to Ira and Zell Kanack in Detroit, Michigan. She and her husband, Kenny moved to Rochester, N.Y. and stayed there until her retirement years, moving to the Atlanta area. She has always been a faithful member of the Episcopal Church and the friendships she made brought her great joy. She was a wonderful mom, Nana, sister and friend. She was the glue that kept the family united. She is survived by her daughters, Susan Rhone and Christine Mills; three grandchildren; four great grandchildren, and one great, great grandchild. She is also survived by her loving brother Doug Kanack and his wife Gerre of Farmington, Michigan. Doris will always be remembered for her servant heart, courage, friendship and wit as well as her great love for her family and friends.A memorial service was held December 5, 2013 at St. Peter & St. Paul Episcopal Church, 1795 Johnson Ferry Road, Marietta, GA.
