Doris Laxton Henderson UNION, SC-- Mrs. Doris Jean Laxton Henderson, age 75, widow of Robert Keith Henderson of 319 Belvue Drive, Union, died Saturday, May 12, 2007 at her home. Mrs. Henderson was born in Union, April 25, 1932, a daughter of the late John Wesley Laxton and Ada Kitchens Laxton. She was retired from Sonoco Products and was formerly owner of Henderson Plumbing with her husband. Mrs. Henderson was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church where she was a member of the Ethel Thompson Sunday School Class. Surviving are three daughters, Cheryl Henderson of the home, Jean Lawson Harvey and husband Ken of Gaffney and Patricia Lawson Vanderford of Union; two sons, Richard Eugene Henderson and wife Wendy and M. Keith Henderson and wife Faye all of Union; three sisters, Meta Ward and Ann Taylor of Union and Kaye Burgess of Jonesville; nine grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren. Mrs. Henderson was predeceased by a brother, Johnny Laxton and two sisters, Mildred Hughes and Betty Jo Pettit. Graveside services will be held at 5:00 PM Monday, May 14, 2007 at Union Memorial Gardens conducted by Chaplain Stewart Smith. Active pallbearers will be employees of Henderson Plumbing. The family will receive friends at the graveside immediately following the service.
