DORIS (AMY) KING (NEE HOLLOWAY) Amy King passed away on September 5, 2009, while at St. Anthony Hospice, surrounded by her loving family. Amy was born April 7, 1937 to Wendell and Opal Holloway. She is survived by her best friend and husband of 53 years, Frank; her three sons: Daniel (Melissa) King of Lowell, Rocky (Janet) King of Cedar Lake, and Monty (Kathie) King of Cumming, GA; seven grandchildren; six great grandchildren; her brother, Dan (Cathy) Holloway; sister, Rosie (Ed) Caudill; aunt, Viola Luke; along with other family members. Preceded in death by her parents. Friends may gather with the family on Tuesday, September 8, 2009 from 3:00-8:00 p.m. at Burdan Funeral Home, 12901 Wicker Ave (corner of Rt 41 & 129th Ave) Cedar Lake. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 9, 2009 at 11:00 am at the funeral home with Pastor Tony Suitor and Pastor Alan Phillips, officiating. Interment will follow immediately at German Methodist Cemetery, Cedar Lake. Amy was a resident of Cedar Lake for over 65 years prior to moving to Lowell, and was a member of the Cedar Lake Lioness Club. She was an avid poker player, and her favorite past time was shopping. Her strong will and compassion will be remembered by all who came in contact with her. She will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested for a memorial in Amy's name to St. Anthony Hospice for all their devotion and dedication to her and her family during this difficult period. www.burdanfuneralhome.com
