LEE Doris Evelyn (Nugent) Born December 26, 1921 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Passed away January 1, 2009 in 100 Mile House, BC. It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Doris. She passed peacefully in the 100 Mile Hospital after spending a very happy Christmas and 87th birthday with close family. She was predeceased by her husband Earl F. Lee and her daughter Wendy Stubel. Also her parents Jack and Violet Nugent, as well as her brother Art and sisters Grace, Phyllis and Norma. Doris was born in Winnipeg and grew up in Shell Lake, Saskatchewan. She served in the Canadian Army overseas in England and has been a Legion member ever since. She raised her family in Pine Falls, Port Alberni, Ucluelet, Port Coquitlam and Surrey. She always kept busy. She was a volunteer at the Surrey Art Gallery for many years and loved to travel. Her passions included family, painting, nature (especially the ocean and birds) and spending time in the great outdoors. She will be greatly missed by her children; Robin (Linda) of 100 Mile House, Earl of Port McNeill, Brian (Shaunalee) of Powell River, Kathleen de Lacy of Wiltshire, England. Grandma will be missed by; Michelle (Bill) Degrazio of Ocean Park, Robin Jr. (Angie) Lee of Keremeos, David and Karen Lee (Mother Janice), Jennifer and Lauren Lee (Mother Catherine), Sherri (Scott) Patterson of Chilliwack, Michael and Dennis Bittle, Harold Stubel (son-in-law). Great-grandma will be missed by; Elizabeth and Alexandra Degrazio, Abby, Matthew Ty and Samantha Lee, Tabatha, Haley and Mackenzie Patterson, as well as many cousins, nephews, nieces and friends. May we always feel your Irish eyes shining down on us all. A private family memorial will be held at a future date. In lieu of flowers a donation to the Breast Cancer Foundation on behalf of her daughter Wendy Stubel would be appreciated.
