Doris Stewart Davis, 83, of Donelson, Tenn. and widow of Vernon Davis, died Monday, January 1, 2007, at Palmetto Health Baptist, Easley. She was a longtime resident of Donelson, Tenn., having lived in the Blue Ridge Living Center in Easley, SC for the last four years. Born in Spartanburg County, she was a daughter of the late James Luther and Lille Mae Loving Stewart. She was a homemaker, and a member of Andrew Price United Methodist Church in Nashville, Tenn. Surviving are a cousin, Christine Dobson of Lyman, SC, who was raised in the home; and 12 nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a son, Jeff Davis; and a daughter, Shelia Davis. Service will be 2 p.m. Friday in the Hibbett & Hailey Chapel, 429 Donelson Pike, Donelson, TN 37214. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park, Nashville, TN. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday, prior to the service, at the funeral home. Serving as Honorary Escort will be members of the United Methodist Women, the XYZ Senior Group, and the Yahada Sunday School Class of the Andrew Price United Methodist Church, and the employees of the Blue Ridge Living Center. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Memorial Fund of Andrew Price Memorial United Methodist Church, 2846 Lebanon Road, Nashville, TN.
