February 22, 2012 Donna Noreen Love, 81 of Syracuse, passed away Wednesday at St. Joseph's Hospital Health Center. She was born in North Bend, Oregon on August 10, 1930 a daughter of the late Donald Charles and Jessie Mae (Patterson) Germond. She grew up in Gardiner, Oregon and graduated from Reedsport Union High School. Donna married Roger Love and had two daughters. She worked as a bookkeeper and parts runner for the Shell Service Station she and Roger owned and operated for over 50 years. Donna lived in Reedsport, Oregon for over 75 years and moved to New York to be near her daughter Gayl and resided at James Square in Syracuse. She loved company, animals, playing cards, and would always have a toe tapping to music. Donna absolutely made the world a brighter place wherever she went. She was predeceased by her brother, Vance Patterson Germond. Surviving are her two daughters, Gayl Franssen of Cicero, NY, Kim (Dennis) Topolewski of Coldstream, British Columbia; four grandchildren, Adam (Catherine) Franssen of Midlothian, VA, Rob (Leslie) Franssen of Bel Air, MD, Clorissa (Colin) Herman of Vernon, British Columbia and Martin Topolewski, also of Vernon, British Columbia; a niece, Sandra Walker of Reedsport, Oregon and three great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Love Franssen, Ethan Alexander Franssen and Cohen Bentley Herman, all whom she called her little pumpkin seeds. The family would like to invite friends to join with them on Saturday, February 25, 2012 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Maurer Funeral Home Moyers Corners 3541 Rte. 31, Baldwinsville to celebrate Donna's life. Though we really appreciate the care received and friendships made, there will be no calling hours at Donna's request.
