->Waterford - Donna M. "Cookie" Peterson, 61, of Waterford, entered eternal life on Nov. 26, 2010, at home in the comfort of her loving family.She was born July 1, 1949, in Easton, Mass., the daughter of Ted Wydler of Mystic and the late Grace (Converse) Wydler. Cookie attended local schools in Groton and graduated from Fitch Senior High School.She was united in marriage to Larry Peterson on Sept. 23, 1978, in Groton; Mr. Peterson survives her.Cookie worked at the Groton-New London Airport for 14 years and was later employed at Monica's State Street Dinner in New London until her illness.She was an active member of Flanders Baptist Community Church.Besides her husband of 32 years, she is survived by two children, Chad and Stacey Peterson, both of New London; three brothers, Jay Jackson of Washington, Tracey Jackson of Mystic, and Alan Jackson of Florida; five sisters, Sue Poulin of Rhode Island, Cheryl Shea of South Carolina, and Heidi Perrino of Florida, Gretchen Dutra of Niantic, Cindy Garbarino of Pawcatuck; and three grandchildren.Her family will receive relatives and friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday at the Impellitteri-Malia Funeral Home, 84 Montauk Ave., New London. A funeral home service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday. Interment will follow in Jordan Cemetery, Waterford.Donations in her memory may be made to Hospice Southeastern Connecticut, 227 Dunham St., Norwich CT 06360.
