Dona Anderson Donna Lee (Durham) Anderson 82, went home to be with her Lord on December 18, 2008, at Cox South. Donna was born to Corwan Oliver Durham and Maude Edith (Sweet) Durham on January 19, 1926, in Udall, Kansas. After graduation in 1943 from the Udall High School as Salutatorian of her class she was employed by J.C. Penney Co. in Winfield, Kansas, and later by the Beech Aircraft Corp in Wichita, Kansas. In 1945 Donna married James (Bill) Anderson and to this union were born fours sons. Bill accepted Jesus as Savior in 1947 and soon after was called to preach; they ministered in Salina, Chanute, Wichita, and Elkhart, Kansas, followed by missionary work in the Philippine Islands. After years of church planting in the islands, they were honored in May, 2006, for fifty years of missionary work under the Bible Baptist Fellowship, International. The gift of a large world globe was presented made of precious stones from foreign countries. Donna left her influence in the lives of many women and children where their ministry was planted. Donna kept her stateside church membership in High Street Baptist Church, Springfield, Missouri, all the time she was overseas totaling more than 51 years. Preceding her in death were her parents, Corwan and Maude Durham; a sister Vida Ellen Barnett; and a brother Donald Corwan Durham. Survivors are her sons, Terry and wife Melanie Anderson, Jim and wife, Marta, Don, whose wife, Rosalie succumbed to cancer at 36 years, and Monty and wife Pamela; nine grandchildren, Shawn and Jennifer Anderson, Heather and Shane Manning, Brooke and Dan Mathews, Jennifer and Phillip Sledge, Nicky Anderson, Travis Anderson, Tamara and Dan Valles, Andrea and Luke Martin, Shawn and Patricia Anderson; 17 great-grandchildren; and a host of nephews, nieces and friends. Funeral services will be in Greenlawn Funeral Home South, Monday, 1 p.m. Visitation will be Sunday, 2 to 3 p.m. in Greenlawn Funeral Home South. Burial will follow in White Chapel following service.
