LIMINGTON, ME - Donna Katherine Jackson, 70, of Limington died on March 28, 2015 at her home after a long illness. She was born in Greenfield, Massachusetts on April 30, 1944 a daughter of Donald and Katherine (Schechterle) Pierce. She graduated high school from Arms Academy in 1962 where she had been a drum majorette and homecoming queen. She went on to be in the first graduating class from Greenfield Community College in 1964 receiving an Associate of Arts Degree and became a legal secretary.She was very involved with the Drama program at Greenfield C.C. and was in many productions. College was where she also met her future husband, Robert R. Jackson. She and Bob were married on September 22, 1964 at William Butler Memorial United Methodist Church in Shelburne Falls, MA. She was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church.Donna also worked for several years at Prestige Fragrance and Cosmetics in Freeport, Maine and for several years as a jewelry saleswoman at Service Merchandise in Augusta, Maine. She went back to Mass. to become a caretaker for her mother in the early 1990s. She was a lifelong crafter, accomplished seamstress and a passionate quilt maker. She enjoyed watching crime / drama television shows which stemmed from her legal background. She had thought once of becoming a lawyer, but never questioned her choice to become a devoted homemaker. She loved the ocean and the Maine coastline and enjoyed many trips to the sea with her husband and family. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and family certainly was most important to Donna.Besides her parents, she was predeceased by a sister, Katherine Irene Pierce who died as a young child. Surviving are her beloved husband of fifty years, Pastor Robert Jackson of Limington. Her daughter, Pastor Bo Jackson Landsperg and husband Anthony of Limerick. Her granddaughter, Hope Elizabeth Landsperg of Limerick. A sister, Pauline Cutter and husband Edward of Reno, NV. Two uncles, Donald Schechterle and wife Janice of Colrain, MA. and James Schechterle and wife Barbara of Georgia. Also several nieces and nephews and numerous cousins. A memorial service will be on Sunday, April 12, at 2 p.m. at the West Baldwin United Methodist Church on Pequawket Trail (Rt. 113) in West Baldwin, Maine.
