DONNA ELIZABETHJONES, 84 PLANT CITY - Donna Elizabeth Jones, 84, of Plant City, Florida, departed this life on Monday, December 14, 2009 in Lakeland, Florida, due to respiratory failure. She was born on March 2, 1925 to Donald and Emma Hull, and was a forth generation descendent of the pioneering Hull and McDonald families who helped settle the Hopewell community south of Plant City. Donna was first and foremost a child of God who exemplified her Christian walk daily with faith, hope, and love. She was a member of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church (EPC) in Plant City, and as a fervent believer in the power of prayer she was a devoted member of several prayer groups. In recent years she helped compile a history of the Hull family in the south, and was active with the Hull family association. She graduated from Plant City High School, and attended Mary Baldwin College in Staunton, Virginia, and the University of Alabama where she met her future husband and was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma. She treasured her role as mother and grandmother. She loved to spend time at her beach place in Venice, and she was happiest when surrounded by family. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years D.L. Jones, and brothers Roy H. Hull and Dwight Hull. She is survived by her children Pamela of Brooksville, Florida, David (Sue Jean) of Plant City, and Don (Teena) of Warner Robbins, Georgia; grandchildren Matthew, Christen, Don D., and Michael; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation on Saturday, December 19 from 10 - 11:00 A.M. at Hopewell Funeral Home, 6005 SR 39 S, Plant City, where graveside services will follow at Hopewell Memorial Gardens.
