Donald L. MacKenzie, 79, of Broadway, Va., formerly of Norwell, Mass., passed away Saturday, Feb. 11, after a brief illness. Born in Weymouth, Mass., Oct. 8, 1932, he was the son of the late Leavitee B. and Vivian (Henningsen) MacKenzie. Donald attended Weymouth schools and worked at Proctor and Gamble for 32 years before retiring at the age of 56 in 1988. He enjoyed hunting and fishing in Maine along with cooking and golf. He is survived by his sons, Donald L. MacKenzie Jr. of Plymouth, Mass., and Robert G. MacKenzie and his wife Janet of Hanover; his daughter, Carole-Lynn Murphy of Carver, Mass.; and was predeceased by his daughter, Donna Beguerie of Norwell, Mass. Donald was grandfather to eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He also is survived by his sisters, Vivian Nicol of Virginia and Linda Allen of Idaho. He was predeceased by his brothers, Leslie and George MacKenzie. A memorial visitation and service will be held Saturday, March 10, at 4 p.m. in the Sullivan Funeral Home, 551 Washington St., Rte. 53, Hanover.
