Donald Hamilton, 72, of Cortlandt Manor, died Saturday, April 28, 2001. He was born May 19, 1928 in New Rochelle. A graduate of Leonard High School in New Rochelle. He enlisted in the Navy, receiving an Honorable discharge. He is survived by his former wife, Mary Brown Hamilton and their five children, Donna Hamilton of North Carolina, Thomas Hamilton of Florida, Diane (Eric) Walker of Cortlandt Manor, Robert Hamilton of Peekskill, and Donald (Karen) Hamilton of Katonah. In addition, there are 10 grandchildren, Eva (Freddy) Beauchamps of Brooklyn, Selina of North Carolina, Robert and Marian of Ohio, Alan, Samantha & Donald Hamilton of Katonah, Eric John, and Keith Walker of Peekskill. There are also four great-grandchildren, Nicole, Dalila, Freddy, and Daniella Beauchamps. He is also survived by his "mans best friend," Damien. Mr. Hamilton had been a typesetter by trade and was a member of the Mohegan Volunteer Fire and Ambulance Corp. After his retirement, he stayed very active with gardening and fishing. The family is planning an informal Celebration of Life at 1 pm on May 12, at the home address. In Lieu of Flowers, Mr. Hamilton wanted donations to be made to the Mohegan Volunteer and Ambulance Corp in Mohegan, or to the United Cerebral Palsy Association of Westchester in Purchase.
