DONALD HAMILTON PORTAGE, IN Donald Hamilton, age 86, of Portage, formerly of Miller and Ogden Dunes, passed away peacefully July 25, 2013. Don was a graduate of Emerson H.S. and served in the U.S. Army during WWII, European African Theater. He was very involved in the community, coaching little league and serving as volunteer fire department chief. Don was a manager at Midwest Steel's transportation department. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He will be greatly missed. Don was preceded in death by his daughter, Maryann Hamilton. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Patricia; children: Donald (Gina) Hamilton, Tom (Sue) Hamilton, and Cathy (Jeff) Fleming; grandchildren: Erin (Matt) Cullen, Jeffrey Veach, Taylor Fleming, Zakrey Fleming, and Elijah Fleming. Friends may visit with Don's family on Monday, July 29, 2013 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Burns Funeral Home, 701 E. 7th Street, Hobart, IN. A funeral service will be held immediately following at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Mike Hendon officiating.
