BENSON, Donald (Don) - Peacefully, at the Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital, on Saturday, June 14, 2008. Donald (Don) Benson, of Tillsonburg, formerly of Sarnia, in his 78th year. Dear son of the late Norman Benson and the former Late Gladys Wilson. Don worked at Imperial Oil, Sarnia, for over 25 years. Don worked his way up, from a deck hand, to the Captain of his own Vessel that sailed back and forth of the Great Lakes. Don moved to Tillsonburg in 1987 as a retired Marine Superintendent (Captain). Survived by his wife, Marjorie (Seymour) Benson, sister Shirley Elliott, Sarnia, brother William (Bill) Benson, and wife June of Sarnia. Survived by step-children Sharon Sztronga (Ian), Grimsby, Dennis Seymour, Simcoe, Alan Seymour (Alice), Delhi, Deborah McCulligh (Scott), Simcoe, Mary Lou Ball (Robert), Langton. Predeceased by his first wife, Lorraine (1981) and son David (2002). Survived by many grandchildren, nieces, nephews and great grandchildren. Resting at the VERHOEVE FUNERAL HOME, 262 Broadway, Tillsonburg, where service will be held in the Chapel on Tuesday, June 17, 2008, at 11 a.m. by Rev. Ron Mohr of St. Lukes Lutheran Church, Tillsonburg. Interment in Lakeview Cemetery Sarnia, with a Public Graveside Service by Rev. Roger Ellis of Redeemer Lutheran Church, Sarnia on Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. Donations (by cheque only) to the charity of your choice will be appreciated by the family.
