Athens<!--Athens-->Funeral for Dimple Gail Smith, 77, of Athens will be Saturday, July 26, 2008, at 11 a.m. at Mt. Carmel Church of Christ with Jimmy Clark officiating and Spry Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Dement Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 9 a.m. until service time at the church. Mrs. Smith, who died Thursday, July 17, 2008, at Valley View Health & Rehabilitation, was born Oct. 27, 1930, in Lauderdale County to Alex and Leeta White. She was a member of Mt. Carmel Church of Christ. She was retired from Browns Ferry Nuclear Plant. Her husband, Harold Smith, preceded her in death. Survivors include two sons, Tim Smith of Knoxville, Tenn., and Travis Smith of Athens; two daughters, Terri Preston and her husband, Chris, and Teresa Brown, both of Athens; four grandchildren, Brandy Davis, Zac Fleming, Will Preston and Braden Preston, all of Athens; and five great-grandchildren, Kyle Davis, Jenna Davis, Katelyn Davis, Walker Fleming and Peyton Preston, all of Athens. Pallbearers will be Tim Smith, Travis Smith, Will Preston, Braden Preston, Zac Fleming and Chad Davis.
