Of 1608 St. Andrews Road died suddenly after a fall at her home on Monday, October 18, 2004. Her funeral will be held at 11:00 AM Friday at First Presbyterian Church, Greensboro, North Carolina. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery. Dianne was born in Buffalo, NY, to the late Robert Oliver Barton and Harriett Thomas Barton. She graduated from Pine Manor College in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts and Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, NY. She worked professionally in Boston with the advertising firm of Hill, Holiday, Connors, Cosmopoulos, Inc. and later in New York City with Barron's Magazine. She was married in 1984 to David Franklin Parker and lived in Kansas City, Missouri and Mission Hills, Kansas prior to moving to Greensboro, North Carolina in 1989. She is survived by her husband, David Franklin Parker, daughter Caroline Porter Parker, and sons, Barton Franklin Parker and David Franklin Parker, Jr. all of Greensboro, North Carolina. She is also survived by her mother, Harriett Thomas Barton of Buffalo, New York; brother, Robert Oliver Barton, Jr.; his wife, Susan and their children Andrew, Lacey and Paige of Baltimore, Maryland. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church where she was active in Homebuilders Sunday School Class. She was a member of the Junior League of Greensboro, the Greensboro Symphony Guild, the Elmwood Garden Club, the Fleur de Lis Garden Club and the Ya Ya Book Club. She served on the boards of Preservation Greensboro, Inc. and Bell House and was an active volunteer at Greensboro Day School and in many other charitable organizations. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Thursday at the Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home, North Elm Chapel and other times at the residence.
