She was also preceded in death by her step-mother, Alice McCurry.Mrs. Stewart was a Veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp. She worked at the VA Hospital in Asheville.Mrs. Stewart is survived by her husband, James Steven Stewart; sister Gail Barnes; and brother Jack H. McCurry.Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday in the Western Carolina State Veteran's Cemetery Chapel. Her family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M.
