JOHNSON Diane Louise Robinson Johnson, 53, of Fernandina Beach, Florida, died peacefully at home after a lengthy battle cancer. She was born April 11, 1950, in Jacksonville, Florida. She was baptized in the Miami Shores Baptist Church, Miami Florida. In 1968, Diane graduated as an honor student from Edison High School, Dade County, Florida. She then attended University of Florida and earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing, graduating with high honors. Diane worked four years at the McGuire Va Medical Center in Richmond Virginia, 1972-1976, before moving to Fernandina Beach. She also worked locally as an occupational nurse at ITT Rayonier. Diane was a dedicated wife, mother, and homemaker, who enjoyed spending time with her family. For over 25 years she was an officer in her husbands dental practice keeping records, in addition to other duties. Diane was a member of the Fernandina Beach Womans Club and the Amelia Island Chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Diane was an avid reader, sports fan, and a patriotic proponet of the American way. Diane is survived by her husband of 32 years, Dr. Robert W. Johnson of Fernandina Beach, Fla.; son, Robert M. Johnson of College Station, Texas; daughter, Jennifer Burke Scheer (Jeremy) of Gainesville, Fla.; mother, Willie C. “ Winkie” Robinson of Fernandina Beach, Fla.; brothers, Michael A. Robinson of Melbourne, Fl., and Robert A. Robinson (Stephanie) of Del Rio, Tennessee; and one granddaughter, Burton Louise Scheer. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on July 22, 2003, in the Burgess Chapel of Oxley-Heard Funeral Home in Fernandina Beach with Father Ron Kuykendall of Gainesville, Fla., officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:00 A.M. - 10:45 A.M.
