SARASOTA, Fla. - Diane Jenks Ives passed away on Dec. 2, 2012, after a short illness.Diane was born on Dec. 15, 1941 in Dayton, Ohio, but grew up in Greenfield Mass., where she lived with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. H. Irving Jenks, and her brothers, Duncan and Malcolm. She graduated from Northfield School for Girls in 1960. She and Eli Terry Ives were married from 1962 until his death in 1996.After many years living away from Franklin County, she returned in 1983 and lived in Colrain, Mass., from 1983 to 1993. Much of her life was dedicated to helping animals in need.She is survived by her two children, Kathryn Ives of Leesburg Va., and Joshua Ives of Fiskdale, Mass.; her two granddaughters, and her partner of 15 years, Bill Coughlin. A private memorial will be held by the family.
