Diane H. Eatonformerly of Townsend; 84 TOWNSEND -- Diane H. Eaton, 84, formerly of Eastman Street, died Sunday, September 14, 2014, at The Highlands, Fitchburg.Her husband of 37 years, Lawrence R. "Lonnie" Eaton died in March 1986.Mrs. Eaton was born in Townsend, May 17, 1930, a daughter of Walter C. and Mable A. (Daniels) Hamel and has resided in Townsend for most of her life.For thirty years, she worked as the Children's Librarian at the Townsend Public Library, retiring in 2005. She also worked many years as a teacher's aide at Spaulding Memorial in Townsend.She had been active at the Townsend Congregational Church where she taught Sunday School, was a member of the Ladies' Guild and participated in the church fairs. She also enjoyed bowling and was a member oft he Couples Club Bowling League.She leaves two sons, Lawrence C. "Chuck" Eaton of Los Angeles, CA, Andrew D. Eaton of Lowell; two daughters, Lynne H. Roy of Milford, NH, Lori A. Eaton of Seattle, WA; three grandchildren, Daniel Daschbach-Eaton, Lola Violet Eaton, Lux Veronica Eaton.She was the sister of the late Marilyn Egan, Corinne Morgillo of Woburn, William Hamel and Walter Hamel both of Townsend.EATON -- Funeral services will be held 11 am Wednesday, September 17th at the T.J. Anderson & Son Funeral Home, 250 Main Street, (Rte 119) Townsend.
