Anderson, Diane (Carola), a loving wife, mother, grandmother, passed away on Dec. 15, 2010 at Pembroke Memorial Hospital. Born Dec. 7, 1929 in Statesville, North Carolina to Kermit and Marge Allie. Raised with two brothers, Butch and Gair, and one sister Sherwin. Diane married in 1951 to Arthur F. Anderson of 59 years. Travelled extensively while both served in the U.S.A.F. while raising three sons; Michael, born 1952 at West Point Military Academy N.Y., Eric, Born 1958 at Kindly AFB Bermuda, David, born 1965 at Homestead AFB Florida; "in the commissary" as David had always thought. Diane finally settled down in 1965 in Hollywood, Florida, where she raised her three children. Her children played baseball, football and basketball year round, and Diane never missed a game. She even found time to coach girls' softball. Diane was an avid walker, enjoyed the outdoors and camping. Crossword puzzles were her avenue for leisure. What Diane will be remembered for most is her strong will, tied with character and principles. Her love of caring and charitable heart will be remembered if you wish to make a donation in her name to St. Judes Children Hospital or Smile Train.
