Dennis Wilson Patterson, age 59, of Florence, died Sunday, Aug. 13, 2006, at his residence.He was a native and lifelong resident of Florence. He was a retired school teacher from the Florence City Schools.Visitation will be Wednesday, Aug. 16, 2006, from 9-11 a.m., at Greenview Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. in Greenview Memorial Chapel, with burial to follow in Rogers Chapel Cemetery. Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Mike Butler.He was preceded in death by his father, Ulva U. Patterson.He is survived by his mother, Annie Ruth Wilson Patterson; brother, Randy Patterson and wife, Cindy, of Florence; nephew, Nicholas Patterson, of Auburn, Ala.; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.Pallbearers will be Greg Bevis, Brown Nolen, Paul Parker, Mack "Duck" Patterson, Ronnie Putnam and Robby Wilson.In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society.Greenview Funeral Home, of Florence, is directing.
