Denise Staci Berger-Evans, 45, died Aug. 10, 2009, in Morehead City, N.C. She was born in Miami and was a long-time resident of Port St. Lucie, before recently moving to Morehead City. She was a bookkeeper for more than 20 years. Survivors include her husband, Timothy "Tim" O. Evans of Morehead City; mother and stepfather, Ann and Don Nelson of Port St. Lucie; father and stepmother, Herbert and Dottie Berger of Palm Beach; daughters, Jacqueline Perry and Nicole Carus, both of Port St. Lucie, and Samantha Evans of Morehead City; son, Timothy Evans of Morehead City; brother, Scott Berger of Port St. Lucie; sisters, Sandi Tasch and Suzi Wabuda, both of Hobart, Ind.; and stepsister, Diane Dube of Windham, N.H. Services: A gathering will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Aug. 16 with a memorial service to follow at 2 p.m. at Haisley Funeral Home. A reception will follow at the Haisley Family Center.
