MORIN, Denise F. - June 1, 1940 - July 24, 2009. Denise was born in Cornwall, Ontario, Canada to Ubald Rouleau, the reeve of the former Cornwall Township and Frances Sarah Clarke. She was one of five children and attended grade school at the Nativity School for Girls and graduated from Academie Saint Michael in 1959. She attended the Faculty of Arts at the University of Ottawa where she met her future husband, a medical student Marc A. Morin. They married and moved with their family to California in 1964 and settled in Laguna Beach in 1971 and raised five children. Denise loved her home and her community of 38 years. Denise enjoyed playing tennis, jogging, travel, growing orchids, knitting and was an avid reader. She participated in numerous civic responsibilities and was an active member of St. Catherine of Siena Church where she was a wedding coordinator for the past several years. Denise was a dedicated and loving mother, a trusted friend, a fierce yet fair tennis competitor, a tireless volunteer, an inquisitive learner, an enthusiastic cheerleader, and an adoring grandmother who played hostess on most weekends to her family. She was a devoted wife and supportive companion. She will be greatly missed for her many wonderful qualities, contagious laugh, and beautiful green eyes. After several health challenges over the past six years, she passed away in the company of her family. Services were held on July 29 and she was laid to rest at the Holy Sepulcher Cemetery in Orange. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her five children: Julie, Marc (Amy), André (Anita), Susan, and Nicole (Jay); as well as five grandchildren: Lindsey, Tanner, Katrina, Julia and Jesse. She was predeceased by her brother, the Honourable Paul Rouleau formerly of the Federal Court of Canada. She is survived by her three siblings, Marc Rouleau (Sue), Elda Firth (Edward), Bibiane Amyot, her sister-in-law, Aline Rouleau and her brother-in-law Carl Morin. Donations can be made for Melanoma Research at the Chao Family Comprehensive Cancer Centre at the University of California Irvine Medical Centre. We want to extend a special thank you to the entire staff at UCI Medical Centre for their excellent care, friendship and support during her illness.
