DOVER — Denise A. Gelinas, 60, of Back River Road, died Sunday Sept. 9, 2012, at the Wentworth-Douglass Hospital.She was born Jan. 1, 1952, in Acushnet, Mass. the daughter of Gerald and Blanche (Lavoie) Chevalier.Denise grew up in New Bedford, Mass., where she worked at Knapps Shoes and Acushnet Company. She then left to follow her husband's career in the Navy. She came to settle down in New Hampshire where she worked as the manager at Burger King for many years. She was a professional bingo player and avid Red Sox's fan.She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother. She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Daniel Gelinas of Dover; a son, Maurice "Andy" Gelinas and his wife Amy of Barrington; a daughter, Jennifer Byron and her husband Robert of Gonic; seven brothers and sisters; five grandchildren: Katelyn, Daniel, Andrew, Alison and Joseph; two great grandchildren, Lindsey and Jacobey; and her godfather, Norman Chevalier, of New Bedford, Mass.; and many nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be Friday 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Tasker Funeral Home, 621 Central Ave., Dover, N.H.
