CARTER, Delia K., 59, of Dade City, Fla., died Sunday, November 8, 2009, at Pasco Regional Medical Center in Dade City. She was born June 23, 1950, in Dade City to parents, William E. Carter Sr. and Marie Carter Brown. She attended Moore-Mickens High School and transferred to Pasco High School and graduated in 1968. Her employment included Pasco County sheriff dispatcher, Pasco County emergency medical technician specialist, Pasco County deputy sheriff, Pasco County school resource officer and Pasco County Court House bailiff. She retired from the Pasco County Sheriff' s Office and was serving the community as a guardian ad litem. She was a member of St. John Missionary Baptist Church, where she joined at an early age. She is survived by one son, Idrees A. "Scrappy" Givens; mother, Marie Carter Brown (Frank); four brothers, Luther E. Cason (Mary), Louis H Carter (Wanda), Clyde E. Carter (Paula) and Martin D. Carter; two sisters, ReJoyce Carter and Agnes Phelps (James); three uncles, John, Joseph and William Ammons; four aunts, Annie Nelson, Jo Ann Ammons Lewis, Earline Morgan and Eatherline Horton; and one special niece, Gloria Jean Solomon (Amos). A visitation will take place 5-7 p.m. Friday, November 13, 2009, at St. John Missionary Baptist Church, 14549 N. 8th St., Dade City, Fla. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 14, 2009, at the church, with the Rev. Harold Thomas, officiating. Interment will follow at Dade City Cemetery.
