CARTER, Delia K. 59, of Dade City, died Sunday, Nov. 8, 2009, at Pasco Regional Medical Center in Dade City. She was born on June 23, 1950, in Dade City, to the parents of William E. Carter, Sr. and Marie Carter Brown. She attended Moore-Mickens High School and transferred to Pasco High School and graduated in 1968. Her employment included Pasco County Sheriff Dispatcher, Pasco County EMT Specialist, Pasco County Deputy Sheriff, Pasco County School Resource Officer and Pasco County Court House Bailiff. She retired from the Pasco County Sheriff Office and was presently serving the community as a Guardian Ad Litem. She was a member of St. John Missionary Baptist Church where she joined at an early age. She is survived by one son, Idrees A."Scrappy" Givens; mother, Marie Carter Brown (Frank); four brothers, Luther E. Cason (Mary), Louis H. Carter (Wanda), Clyde E. Carter (Paula) and Martin D. Carter; two sisters, ReJoyce Carter and Agnes Phelps (James); three uncles, John, Joseph and William Ammons; four aunts, Annie Nelson, Jo Ann Ammons Lewis, Earline Morgan and Eatherline Horton; and one special niece, Gloria Jean Solomon (Amos). Visitation will be Friday, Nov. 13, 2009, at St. John Missionary Baptist Church, 14549 N. 8th Street, Dade City, from 5 pm to 7 pm. Funeral services will be conducted at the church Saturday, Nov. 14, 2009, at 11 am, with the Pastor Rev. Harold Thomas officiating. Interment will follow in the Dade City Cemetery.
