Deborah Lee Blackwelder Johnson SPARTANBURG, SC-- Deborah Lee Blackwelder Johnson, 41, of Spartanburg, died Monday, April 4, 2011, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born July 22, 1969, in Spartanburg, she is survived by her parents, Donald Gerald and Annie Scruggs Blackwelder. Deborah was of the Freewill Baptist faith and a loan officer with Navy Federal Credit Union, Charleston, SC. She was a graduate of Westgate Christian School and Piedmont Beauty School. She was dearly loved by all who knew her. In addition to her parents, survivors include a sister, Donna Blackwelder McNamara (Sean) of Spartanburg; two nieces, Caroline and Megan McNamara, and three nephews, Sean Jr., Brandon, and Andrew McNamara all of Spartanburg; a special cousin, David Pledger of Spartanburg; and her special paternal grandmother, Mattie Blackwelder. Funeral services will be at 4:00 PM Thursday, April 7, 2011, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Chuck Thornton and Dr. Joe Blackwelder. Entombment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens Heritage Chapel Mausoleum. Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to Peace Free Will Baptist Church, PO Box 170835, Spartanburg, SC 29301. The family wishes to extend special thanks to the doctors and nurses of the 1st Floor at the Gibbs Cancer Center.
