Dawn "Tish" Patricia Carter passed away Sunday, January 19, 2014 at the Wilmington DE Veterans' Affairs Hospital, following an extended illness. Tish was born in Bridgeton NJ on October 9, 1950. She is the daughter of Shirley and the late W. Calvin Boone Sr. A graduate of the Bridgeton Public School system; She attended Virginia College in Huntsville, AL where she received an Associate's degree in Administrative Office Management. Tish had been employed as an administrative assistant at the Union Hill Baptist Church in Huntsville, AL. She had also worked at Murbecks in Bridgeton, and as a certified welder at Sun Shipyard in Chester, PA. Tish also served in the U.S. Army from 1978-1982, where she achieved the rank of Specialist E4, as an Air Defense/Missile Technician. She is survived by two children, as Son - Steven Covey (Valarie) of Virginia, a Daughter - Nikeya Hanes (Devin) of Texas, four Grandchildren - KaShondra, KaRina, Landon, and Sean; Three Sisters - Sheila Graham, Mary Gross, and Darlene Boone; Three Brothers - Calvin Boone, Jr. (Peggy), Irvin Boone, and Kevin Boone all of Bridgeton NJ. Funeral Services will be held at John Wesley United Methodist Church, Matthew Brown Way and Grove Street, Bridgeton on Saturday January 25th at 12 PM. Interment will take place privately a the convenience of the family at Cedarhill Memorial Park in Hopewell Twp. Friends will be received at the church from 11 AM to 12 PM prior to the services.
