MCLELLAN David L. McLellan, age 88, of Saybrook Road, Trumbull died September 22 after a brief illness. He was the son of Agnes (Brown) and David McLellan of Bridgeport, After completing his Tool and Die Apprenticeship at the Bridgeport Brass Company he answered his country's call and entered the United States Navy during World War II. He achieved the rank of Machinist's Mate, Second, serving in the South Pacific. Upon returning home, David and his brother Gordon founded the Fleet Tool Company in Stratford. In 1969, he joined Schick Safety Razor as Tool Room Superintendent until his retirement in 1986. He was a member of Scottish Clan Campbell, a past president of the Stratford Exchange Club and an avid golfer. David is survived by his daughter, Constance Blomquist and her husband Bruce of Westbrook. Grandchildren Richard Blomquist of New York City, Christine Martin and her husband Lief of Virginia, Ashley, Matthew and Jason Vargoshe of Madison, and his great-grandchild Alice Martin. He was predeceased by Claudia, his wife of 61 years, sister Victoria Margulies, brother Gordon McLellan and daughter Leslie Vargoshe. A private burial will take place.
